It happens to everyone. We go through phases where we get into a daily routine and start feeling uninspired. We long to be part of something bigger. To make an impact. To make a mark in the world.

Look around you, it has never been easier. Shake things up this summer and join AIDS Calgary’s Volunteer Challenge!

If you believe that HIV matters, say so. If you believe education is the best method of prevention, learn the facts and share them. If you believe that people living with HIV deserve to have a strong social support system, help us make it happen. It’s as simple as standing up alongside your fellow volunteers and showing your support.

That’s what this year’s Volunteer Challenge is all about: making your mark.

Starting June 2nd, with AIDS Calgary’s first-ever Condom Pack competition, the Challenge aims to bring 100 unique individuals from all walks of life together through a series of 12 different events. We want to be able to show our community, through our volunteer numbers, that we are one united voice and strong players in the global AIDS movement. We want everyone to hear us when we say HIV affects all of us.

And why not have a little fun while we do it?

Join us as we see which of our volunteers can make the most condom packs under time pressure. Or, come out and show us your creative side as we create giant AIDS ribbons. Or, participate in an interactive presentation on how to be a better advocate for HIV awareness. Or, join us for all of our events.

So how does it work? Getting started is easy, check out our full schedule of events and download a registration form.

Once you are signed up, we'll create a "passport" for each volunteer to keep track of the events you take part in. Give us a call at (403) 508-2500 or email us at volunteer@aidscalgary.org to let us know if you plan on attending the next event. Come to as many or as few as you like, either to participate or even just to cheer on our other volunteers.

For each event you attend, you'll receive a stamp in your passport, which will get you one entry into our Volunteer Challenge draw. The more events you attend, the better chances you have to walk away with a prize.
